Basic Details for Voter Registration



In-person: Delivered to county clerk by close of business on April 20.elect.ky.govEligibility Requirements:U.S. citizen.
Kentucky resident for at least 28 days before the election.
At least 18 years old by the November 2026 general election (17-year-olds may register for the primary).
Not a convicted felon (unless rights restored via expungement, pardon, or order).

Not adjudged mentally incompetent with voting rights removed.elect.ky.govParty Affiliation (Closed Primary): Kentucky holds closed primaries. To vote in the Democratic or Republican primary, you must be registered with that party. Party changes must have been made by December 31, 2025. Unaffiliated ("Other") voters can only participate in nonpartisan races (e.g., judicial, school board).facebook.comHow to Register: Online at govote.ky.gov (preferred), mail-in forms, or in-person at county clerk offices.
